Arun has extensive design and strategy leadership experience in the software industry over the past two decades.

Previous to Arthedge, he co-founded and was the vice president of strategy of Webridge Inc. Now as part of Huron Consulting Group, more than 150 people still work on the software platform he had pioneered, and its compliance and grant-management products are still being used at all the premier research institutions in the country (Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, UCSF etc.)

Prior to Webridge, Arun held senior engineering and strategic positions at IBM (Sequent) and Intel. He conceived and led the development of highly scalable multiprocessor networking technology, similar to what is now known as Cloud Computing. Clients included the very first download server at Netscape.

Arun has a long-held interest in neuroscience and cognitive psychology and has successfully published peer-reviewed papers using modern brain imaging techniques in collaboration with leading scientists at Oregon Health & Science University and University of Oregon. He keeps a close track on research in developmental and behavioral economics as well as neuroscience on decision-making under conditions of high uncertainty, and the various cognitive and emotional biases and traps that often underlie market inefficiencies.

Arun has been an active investor for more than twenty five years, collaborating with Samir on proprietary methods of uncovering market inefficiency.

Arun has a Bachelor's in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi, India. He graduated at the top of his class of 300+ engineers, winning the university's highest academic honor - the Kohinoor medal. He completed his Masters in Computer Science from SUNY at Stony Brook, New York, specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Networks.

Samir Gupta

Operations Manager

Samir has an extensive leadership experience in helping with strategic use of information processing to clients such as JP Morgan Chase, Deutsche Bank, Fitch Investments, AXA Equitable and Orix USA.

Prior to that, Samir was an Assistant Professor of Management at Krannert School of Business, Purdue University, where he developed curriculum focusing on the strategic impact of information on business. He has focused his research in the area of equity and derivatives trading and execution. He has published papers aimed at developing tools and policies to facilitate profitable executions of securities and helping in determining derivative prices and exploiting the mis-pricing of derivatives.

Samir has been collaborating with Arun for more than two decades on developing proprietary methods of uncovering market inefficiency.

Samir is a graduate of Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, and obtained his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management at Ahmedabad. In 1995, he obtained a simultaneous Masters of Science in Computer Sciences and a Ph. D. in Management of Information Systems from Purdue University.
